The President met with the co-chairman of the Joint Control Commission from Pridnestrovie at the presidential executive office. Vadim Krasnoselsky and Oleg Belyakov discussed the situation in the Security zone, the activities of the peacekeeping contingent, and the work of the Joint Control Commission. The country's leader always pays increased attention to these issues. The incident that happened the day before caused special attention – the fall of missile fragments onto the territory of the Pridnestrovian village of Kitskany. The interlocutors were in touch all day yesterday. The situation is under personal control of the President. Oleg Belyakov detailed the available information and reported on the current situation today.

“The situation in the Security zone remains stable, it is under control of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces, the Joint Control Commission is working as usual,” stated Oleg Belyakov. He noted in connection with the fall of the missile fragments in the Security zone the day before, the coherence of the actions of peacekeepers, military observers, and law enforcement officers. It is documented according to the Speaker, that combat elements of the S-300 missile were discovered in Kitskany. Production of the parts dates back to 1968. The investigation is ongoing.

Informing about the activities of the Joint Control Commission, Oleg Belyakov emphasized that there are difficulties associated with the absence of a co-chairman of the Joint Control Commission from the Republic of Moldova. The neighboring state is currently represented by an official acting as co-chair. This situation is not today; the solution to the problem is being delayed by the Moldovan side. Oleg Belyakov noted that ongoing work is being carried out, the functions of the Joint Control Commission, the Joint Military Command and the Joint Peacekeeping Forces are being fulfilled despite the existing organizational difficulties. Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that the incident that occurred on the 25th of September confirms the need and significance of the activities of the Joint Control Commission, the Joint Military Command and the Joint Peacekeeping Forces.
