Aftermatch of stormy wind was discussed at the meeting of the Security Council

The President in the course of the meeting of the PMR Security Council, raised the question of the aftermatch of stormy wind February 24. The Minister of the PMR Internal Affairs Ruslan Mova reported on the situation. He said that the highest wind was recorded in Dubossary, Tiraspol and Kamenka: the wind speed reached 23 meters per second. As a result, more than fifty trees and 71 cases of a breakdown of the roof and window frames were recorded in the republic. There are no serious damages to water and gas supply systems. Local accidents were liquidated immediately, the Minister informed. Heat supply was temporarily interrupted in Bendery. 26950 ERES subscribers remained without electricity for some time. 36 brigades (104 people) and 42 pieces of equipment were involved in the process of eliminating the consequences of the accident. Power supply in 97% of cases was restored by the next morning, said Ruslan Mova. Claims to emergency rooms for reasons related to bad weather have not been registered.

After listening to the Minister’s report, the President praised the responsiveness and readiness of the services to deal with the effects of negative weather events. Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that the main thing in any situation is the presence of a well-thought algorithm of actions. Willingness to confront the problem is the guarantee that losses will be minimal, and maximum efficiency, the President emphasized.
