The Commentary of the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky on the statements of the President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu voiced the day before

Vadim Krasnoselsky, the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic:

“I got acquainted with interest with the statements of the President of the Republic of Moldova Maia Sandu, regarding the negotiation process with Pridnestrovie, voiced in yesterday's interview to the Free Europe information resource. I am sympathetic to the fact that Moldovan politicians have their own position. Especially in such a vital direction as negotiations, which have been in a state of stagnation in recent years as you know.

The problem of settlement is important not only for the leaders of states. I know for sure that this issue worries all citizens of Pridnestrovie. This is important for the people of Moldova too probably. I am sure that it is important for people to hear not only opinions and wishes, but also to understand the real picture, to assess the realism and, ultimately, the prospects of certain approaches. Frankly, after reading the interview, I got a feeling of some understatement that gave rise to a number of questions to my vis-à-vis.

The first, what is meant by the term “Russian troops”, which is often used by Moldovan politicians: is the Russian peacekeeping contingent involved in the functioning of the peacekeeping operation on the Dniester also part of this concept?

Secondly, what are the prospects for the "5 + 2" international format and is the Moldovan side ready to fulfill the agreement conceptual for this mechanism on the operation of this dialogue platform in the form of "Principles and Procedures ..."?

Thirdly, what is the confidence of the Moldovan side in its ability to move to a real discussion of conceptual issues of the settlement of relations with Pridnestrovie, if over the past years Chisinau has proved to be absolutely incapable of fulfilling officially assumed international obligations on certain social and humanitarian issues within the framework of the package “Berlin plus"? Where to start the “long way” if even the smallest steps have not been taken?

I am ready to hear the opinion of the President of Moldova on specific aspects of relations with Pridnestrovie closer to the real situation so to speak".
