The PMR President met with the Czech ambassador

The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to the Republic of Moldova Zdenek Krejci.

The interlocutors spoke about the course of the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and Moldova. The Czech diplomat was interested in the reasons for the slowdown in negotiations and the interruption of the Bratislava meeting. According to Vadim Krasnoselsky, insufficient and as a result poor-quality preliminary work of expert groups, noticeable reduction in the number of meetings in the “1+1” format, as well as non-fulfillment by the Moldovan side of some of the agreements reached earlier led to such results. An important factor was the electoral processes in Moldova.

The interlocutors spoke about cooperation between Pridnestrovie and the Czech Republic, development of bilateral contacts, and implementation of social and humanitarian projects. Zdenek Krejci was interested in the economic situation in Pridnestrovie, in particular, the issue of ensuring the energy security of the republic in the event of a possible stop of gas transit through the PMR.

Concluding the meeting, the parties agreed to continue a systemic dialogue.
