COVID-19 and its impact on the vital activity of the state: the current work of the Operational Headquarters

Organization of the upcoming celebrations dedicated to the Day of the Republic is among the issues that were discussed today at the meeting of the Operational Headquarters under the President. Holiday programs are prepared in all cities and regions. Vadim Krasnoselsky urged, when forming them, first of all, take into account aspects related to ensuring the safety of citizens. Official celebrations of national scale will be traditionally held in the capital. Military parade will take place on its main square on September 2. Residents of Tiraspol and guests of the city will be invited to the event, but at the same time it was decided that the spectators - for their own safety - will be obliged to observe the mask regime. The same requirement will be imposed on those who arrive in the center of Tiraspol on the evening of September 1 for the opening of the Catherine Park.

Preparations for the start of the school year were also discussed at the meeting. According to the profile minister, local acts on the organization of work are prepared in each educational institution. In addition, serious attention is paid to the formation of the class schedule. In parallel, the Ministry of Education and Science fills in the platform selected for conducting distance learning. About 2350 lessons have already been downloaded. Teachers gradually become familiar with the new resource in order to effectively engage in work in a new format. The PMR Chairman of the Government controls the acquisition of computer equipment for schools. Alexander Martynov noted that the declared quantity remained the same - 2000 units. Their purchase and installation will take about one and a half months.

Resuming the work of theaters and cinema and video centers was discussed today. The Sanitary and Epidemiological Service will have to develop an appropriate regulation. As for proposal to admit spectators to the stands during sports events, Vadim Krasnoselsky urged to pay attention to international experience and postpone this step: while the games and competitions will be held without fans.

The rector of PSU reported. According to Stepan Beril, the university premises are ready to receive students. Difficulties with providing ventilation are only in the building of the Physics and Mathematics Faculty. The President instructed to form an application for the replacement of windows there in order to understand the cost of the issue.

Another object that has been in the field of view of the members of the Operational Headquarters for several weeks is the Dnestr sanatorium. It resumed its work, but so far it is only 10% full. The circle of clients is limited to the citizens of the PMR. Considering that visitors are accepted only with the documented absence of COVID-19, members of the Operational Headquarters consider it expedient to allow the reception of foreigners if they have a certificate of the testing procedure received no more than 48 hours before arrival. The President supported the proposal.

Progress in the construction and equipment of the Rybnitsa COVID laboratory was discussed during the discussion of issues related to ensuring the activities of the PMR health system. The deadline for commissioning set by the President is October 1. Another topic is the use of various medications against coronavirus. Doctors spoke about the proven effectiveness of some and the unjustified use of others. They also discussed novelties offered in the world. The decision was made upon completion of the working discussion to replenish stocks of those drugs that have been successfully tested by Pridnestrovian doctors. In addition, they discussed the practice of plasma transfusion. According to the head physician of the Slobodzeya Hospital, Igor Tostanovsky, it is too early to draw conclusions about effectiveness of the treatment method, the essence of which is to transfuse the blood plasma of those who have coped with the coronavirus. Research in this direction is of great practical value, and plasma of volunteers is needed to carry it out. The President instructed representatives of the Operational Headquarters to contact all potential donors and invite them to participate in this significant humanitarian action.
