The Operational Group of the Russian troops began to serve in Pridnestrovie 24 years ago

July 1, 1995 is the date of the formation of the Operational Group of Russian Forces in Pridnestrovie - the successor of the 14th Guards Combined Arms Army. Celebrations on the occasion of the 24th anniversary of the formation of the OGRF took place today in Tiraspol on the territory of a military campus. The President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic with his wife, representatives of the state authorities and administration of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, residents of the capital, congratulated the Russian servicemen.

They talked during the festive event about the glorious history and the present day of the task force. For a moment of silence, those present honored the memory of the soldiers of the 14th Guards Combined Arms Army, who gave their lives defending their homeland in the battles of the Great Patriotic War. According to Dmitry Zelenkov, head of the OGRF in Pridnestrovie, today the Russian servicemen continue the glorious military traditions of their ancestors: the personnel of the task force are constantly improving their professional skills, successfully solving tasks, contributing to the protection of the national interests of the Russian Federation.

Dmitry Zelenkov recalled that peacekeeping is one of the main tasks of the OGRF in Pridnestrovie.

The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky spoke in his speech about common military history of Pridnestrovie and Russia. He recalled that a lot of outstanding Russian commanders left a mark in the history of the Pridnestrovian region - from Generalissimo Suvorov to General Lebed. Vadim Krasnoselsky paid special attention to Adjutant General Mikhail Ivanovich Dragomirov, a hero of the war for the liberation of Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia from the Ottoman ports and the founder of military tactics of the Russian Imperial Army.
