The Dnestrovskaya Pravda newspaper was awarded the Order of Labor Glory

Vadim Krasnoselsky spoke today with the management and representatives of the creative team of the Dnestrovskaya Pravda newspaper. The founders were also invited to the conversation - the Head of the capital's administration Oleg Dovgopol and the chairman of the city council Vadim Doni. The meeting took place at the House of Official Receptions of the Administration of the PMR President. The event was organized in the format of tea party. Initiated by the Vadim Krasnoselsky, the occasion is the anniversary of the publication. "Dnestrovka" is 80. The first issue was published on the day following the beginning of the Great Patriotic War - June 23, 1941. Then the newspaper "Red Banner" was called. The materials were devoted to military topics. Over the years of its existence, the newspaper has published 12.5 thousand issues. An important historical fact: the Dnestrovskaya Pravda newspaper was the first newspaper old-timer to come under the jurisdiction of Pridnestrovie at the beginning of the 90s. It also acted as a pioneer in modern realities, having introduced a multimedia component into the printed text - QR code to enable readers to switch from a newspaper page to an Internet resource. The journalists spoke about this and other facts from the history and modern everyday life of “Dnestrovka” with the President. Sharing memories, they discussed plans. They raised troubling issues. Special attention was paid to new trends, noting that, it is necessary to actively master electronic platforms while maintaining the traditional paper format.

Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that the fate of the oldest periodical is inextricably linked with the history of the Pridnestrovian region. The President noted that the Tiraspol newspaper for eight decades honestly and vividly reflects the life of the city and the republic, all its vicissitudes, fully corresponding to the modern title of the publication – the Dnestrovskaya Pravda.

The official publication of the capital's state administration and the Tiraspol City Council – the Dnestrovskaya Pravda newspaper was awarded the Order of Labor Glory by the decree of the President. The chief editor of the publication Dmitry Matveev received the sign of recognition of the collective's merits from the hands of the President. The most distinguished employees were also awarded with personal awards.

The participants of the jubilee-discussion meeting exchanged memorable gifts. The President was presented with an album of archival photographs and other materials illustrating the history of the creation, formation and development of the newspaper.
